Refresh Pilot Docs

Using PRO on more than one device

PRO Run Refresh Pilot on your laptop, your desktop, and the office machine with the same settings everywhere. Sign into your account in each browser and they all share one copy of your settings in the cloud — edit in one place and the others catch up on their next sync. There are no device roles: every signed-in browser is an equal peer that can both read and change your settings.

Every browser signed into your account reads and writes the same cloud copy of your settings.

How it works

  • Each browser where you're signed in holds its own session on the same account. They all point at the same synced settings — a change on one shows up on the others within a few minutes (or the moment you open that install's popup).
  • There's no "primary" or "secondary" role and no per-device configuration — it's one shared set of settings, everywhere.
  • A browser that isn't signed in is simply on its own: free, live, and single-browser (see Synchronizing).
â„šī¸ Syncing a single install is free. Sharing settings across several browsers or computers is the PRO part — see Free vs PRO.

Adding another browser

The easy way — just sign in

In the second browser, open dashboard.refreshpilot.com and sign in with your account email and password. The Refresh Pilot extension in that browser links itself to your account automatically — no code to copy. (This is also how a browser where you bought PRO unlocks it — see Free vs PRO.)

The manual way — with a link code

If you'd rather not type your password into a particular browser, you can link its extension with a one-time code instead:

  1. On a browser where you're signed in, open the dashboard → Synchronizing → Link another device and click Generate link code. You get a short 6-character code (letters and digits, e.g. K7QMP4) that's valid for about 10 minutes.
  2. On the second computer or browser, install Refresh Pilot, right-click its toolbar icon, and choose Options.
  3. Enter the code there. That install joins your account and shares your cloud settings on its next sync — within a few minutes, or right away the next time you open its popup.
âš ī¸ The code is a key to your account's settings. Anyone who enters it before it expires links their browser to your account and can read your synced settings. Send it to yourself, not to a group chat — it lapses on its own after a few minutes, and each code works once.

If the dashboard says "Read-only"

Rarely, the dashboard's save pill reads "Read-only" — everything is visible but an edit didn't save, because the server declined that one save (a transient permission or connection hiccup, not a device setting). Use Reload from cloud on Synchronizing to pull the latest version back in, then try your change again.
