Cookies policy
A short page, because there is not much to report. This site uses analytics cookies and nothing else — and the extension uses none at all.
Effective date: July 20, 2026
The extension sets no cookies
Worth stating first, because it is the part people actually care about. The RefreshPilot Chrome extension does not set cookies, does not run analytics, and does not track your browsing. Your settings live in Chrome's extension storage on your own machine. What the extension does send to our servers, and when, is set out in full in the Privacy Policy.
This policy is about this website — the marketing pages at refreshpilot.com and the documentation at refreshpilot.com/docs.
What this website uses
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another so page views are not double-counted | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Maintains session state for the property | Up to 2 years |
That is the complete list. We run no advertising cookies, no remarketing pixels, no social-media trackers, and no third-party embeds that set cookies of their own.
Why we use analytics at all
To answer questions like which documentation pages people actually read, whether anyone finds the expression library, and which pages people leave immediately. It measures pages, not people: it does not tell us who you are, and it has no visibility into anything you monitor with the extension.
Turning them off
The site works completely normally without analytics cookies. Nothing is gated behind accepting them. You can decline them by:
- using your browser's cookie settings to block third-party or all cookies for this site;
- enabling a content or tracker blocker, which will block the Google Analytics script outright;
- installing Google's official opt-out browser add-on, which disables Analytics across every site you visit;
- turning on “Do Not Track” or global privacy control in browsers that send it.
Blocking analytics here has no effect on the extension, your PRO licence, or any monitor you have running.
Essential storage
The web dashboard stores your anonymous connection token in that browser's local storage. That is not a cookie and is not used for tracking — it is what keeps you signed in to your own settings, and clearing it simply signs the dashboard out.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a cookie, we will update this page and its effective date. If we ever introduced a cookie that required consent beyond analytics, we would ask for it explicitly rather than assume it.
