Custom intervals — pick your exact timing

Sometimes the four preset buttons aren't quite right. With custom intervals you type the exact gap you want — hours, minutes and seconds — and the page reloads on your schedule, to the second.

0h 07m 45s

Set your own time — like 7m 45s — and watch the timer fill up and reload the page, right on schedule.

How to use it — 3 easy steps

Open the timer panel

Click the RefreshPilot icon and switch from the preset buttons to custom. You'll see three little boxes: hours, minutes, seconds.

01

Type your exact time

Want every 7 minutes 45 seconds? Type 7 and 45. Every 2 hours? Type 2. Any combination works.

02

Press start

The countdown begins, and the page reloads exactly on your schedule — every single time.

03

01 — What it does

Think of it like setting a kitchen timer. If you know your cookies need exactly 12 minutes, you don't want a timer that only does 10 or 15 — you want 12. Pages are the same: maybe a dashboard gets new numbers every 5 minutes, or a website updates once an hour. Custom intervals let you match the page's real rhythm instead of guessing.

Picking the right time also keeps websites happy. Checking a slow government page every 30 seconds is like knocking on a door 100 times when nobody's home yet — pointless and annoying. Checking once an hour is polite, and you still find out the moment you need to. The right number means you're never late and never a pest.

How do I know what time to pick?

Ask yourself: how often does this page actually get new stuff? If a dashboard updates every 5 minutes, set about 5 minutes. If a website posts new things a few times a day, every 30–60 minutes is plenty. Match the page, and you'll never miss anything.

What's the shortest and longest I can set?

From a few seconds all the way up to many hours. Under ~5 seconds is rarely useful (pages need time to load), and there's nothing wrong with a nice slow once-an-hour check that runs all day.

When should I use random intervals instead?

Use custom when you want an exact, steady beat (like for a dashboard). Use random when you're watching a busy shop or ticket site and want your reloads to look more like a human clicking around — random mixes up the timing for you.
