Auto-start URLs — watches that arm themselves

A watch you have to remember to start is a watch that's sometimes off. Auto-start flips it around: you tell RefreshPilot "whenever this page opens, watch it" — and from then on, opening the page IS starting the watch. Timer, keywords, alerts, all of it.

Watch armed⏱ 30s
The page opens — and the watch switches itself on automatically. Timer set, keywords loaded, ready.

How to use it — 3 easy steps

Teach the rule

Give RefreshPilot the page's address (or a pattern for many pages) and attach the full setup: timer, watch, alerts.

01

Opening = starting

From now on, whenever a matching page loads — clicked, restored, rebooted — the watch arms itself instantly.

02

Survive everything

Crashes, restarts, updates: as long as the page comes back, the watch comes back with it. No human required.

03

01 — What it does

Think of it as a rule you teach RefreshPilot once: "THIS page always gets watched." From then on, it doesn't matter HOW the page opens — you clicked a bookmark, the browser restored your tabs after a restart, the computer rebooted overnight — the moment a matching page loads, the full watch starts by itself. Nobody has to remember anything, and that's the feature.

This is what makes serious setups possible. The wall dashboard survives the office cleaner unplugging the computer. The Monday-morning queue check is already running before your coffee. A rule can match one exact page or a whole family of pages ("every product page on this shop"). Set your browser to reopen tabs on start, and a machine can lose power, reboot, and come back fully armed — all by itself.

Why not just leave the tab running?

Because tabs die — a crash, an update, a restart, and your watch is silently off, maybe for days. An auto-start rule lives in the extension, not the tab: every time the page comes back, the watch comes back too. That's what 'always on' really needs.

Can one rule cover many pages?

Yes — a pattern can match a whole family, like every queue page or every product page on one shop. If a specific rule and a broad rule both match, the specific one wins.

What's the best setup for a wall screen?

Three things: browser set to reopen tabs on start, the dashboard's address in an auto-start rule (with hard refresh and the visual timer), and the computer set to log in by itself. Now the screen survives power cuts with zero hands.
