Watches are work to build. The zone you drew, the words you chose, the timing you tuned — that's real effort, and without sync it's trapped inside one browser on one computer. With sync, your setups travel with your account: sign in on another computer, and your watches, expression library and settings are simply there, up to date, every time you change something anywhere.
Sync is also your safety net. New laptop? Browser reinstalled? Computer died? Sign in — everything comes back. No rebuilding from memory, no "what were those keywords again?". For anyone running serious watches on more than one machine, sync is what turns your setup from a chore you repeat into a thing you own.

Sync carries the SETUP; each computer chooses what to RUN. You can deliberately run the same watch on two machines (say, work computer by day, home computer by night) — they work independently.
What exactly gets synced?
The things that took effort: watch configurations, your expression library, and your settings. Alerts fire from whichever machine is actually doing the watching.
I got a new computer — is everything gone?
